After 15 years

15 years since we graduated from Rosyth, 15 years since I've seen Junjie. Who should I run into last night at Zouk but the man himself.

And we found out that we were both at Zouk the night before, seated at adjacent tables!

Here are a couple of pictures for shits and tickles:

PS. This guy is still so damn tall, I'm openly envious. Junjie had to lower himself to my level for these pics.

Just to quell any suspicions about my sexual orientation resulting from a scandalous pose in the earlier picture, here is a pic of my girlfriend and I at the same venue:

A Thousand Strings Make A Strong Cable

Whilst looking for a rag to clean my room I stumbled upon this in my family's rag pile (so sad!). I quickly whisked it out and saved it from its impending doom as a dirty rag.

Hope that this brings back memories to all you Rosythians! (Apologies to Elaine, who I know did not manage to attend the camp.)

Poor Junjie. The bass was too much for him.

Party on 17th December 2005

Pre- and post-party will be at Gallery Hotel I believe, if we get the room at the promo rate of $140.

Some screen shots of the room:

As Chye mentioned on Keyue's and Shirley's wedding, we should go to Zouk again! And if he graces the occasion then so we shall.

first in a series (an experiment)

I'm thinking of doing a series of these when I get the time to do so. At the moment, can't think of what to call it, so it's currently "The Experiment" (not to be confused with "Das Experiment").

how it all began

Many people we meet ask us how we have stuck together as a group, and till now, not yet tiring of one another - at least not for me! We have an amazing solidarity, and it appears, a unique one. Not everyone is still in touch with their primary school mates.

So here it is: I shall tell the beginning once more, in written form, and with pictures.

First, a primer. In times past, when we were kids, we gathered at one another's houses for fun parties and projects, e.g. time-machine building, right? Here is a picture taken at Julie's for her birthday.

Yeah you can see that apart from Julie's brothers, Keyue is the only boy. Julie had no choice but to invite him, I hear, because he lives at no.22 while she stays at no.46. Those also present were Shirley, Dora, Sijian, Julie, me, Cheryl, Cuifang and Rongyi.

So, fastforwarding, to one fine day in year 2000 I believe, Jeffrey (JeffJeff Productions) tried to get a hold of my email, and he had already gotten in touch with Julie by then. Cheryl was in town too so both Cheryl and Julie traipsed over to Keyue's house. Then, Cheryl went back to school in the states and so, left the remaining us 4 dots behind:

And we met at Julie's house again! This time, with a steamboat dinner, less gaudy fashion sense and at least Keyue was on the invite list for real.

That same night, sweet Keyue took the car from home and sent me all the way back to my parents' place which is in JB. At that time I hadn't yet moved out again and back to Singapore, and was still staying with them and commuting.
(FYI my IC no. is S79 something, so I am Singaporean okay! My parents simply decided to relocate).

As the four of us, plus Cheryl - five, went and made contacts with people who we could find in our circle of friends, pre-Friendster days, the group grew, and we met at Julie's again the following year (hope I didn't get the year wrong).

Present were (L-R, front row): Zongxiang, Jeffrey, Vimalen, Cuifang, Ganhe, Julie, Sandy, (back row) me, Chye Hsern, Paul, Joseph, Vance, Jeremy.

And I believe most of you know how it continued then on. We met in Gardens a lot, played pool a few places, Julie set up Yahoogroups (then known as e-groups), and now, we have regular parties, weddings, and a blog!

Come next year, 2006, it would have been 20 years since we were in Primary 1 in the same school together. It almost brings tears to my eyes -

We are getting old!
